One thing that i learnt in my days of compromised lifestyle was the effect of sin. When God tells us to not commit sin, we don’t see it nastiness right away, but only later when it’s too late.

Fornication

Kissing, touching, sexual intercourse, anal sex, oral sex and everything else are all forms of fornication. Sleeping around is essentially fornication. This is sexually immoral because the 2 are not yet married. Even if they plan to, it doesn’t make it any better.

Pornography

Watching porn, even if you don’t masturbate or have sex as a result is still an act of sexual immorality. Pornography is the other one of the many types of sexual immorality .

Pornography is where you are watching people engaging in sexual acts and this is a sin. Sex is designed to be between 2 married people. So anything outside this is immoral. It doesn’t matter how much we try to justify the act. It’s a sin and it grieves the Holy Spirit.

Some people think pornography is harmless. They say we are just looking we are not actually doing anything wrong. but i have news for you. The bible says that even looking at a woman lustfully , or a man, is as good as committing adultery.

Masturbation is a type of sexual immorality. It is a very controversial topic where most people feel that it’s “safer and better” to have one sided sex instead of fornicating. Most Christians believe that masturbation is acceptable since there is no adultery or fornication involved. But talking from experience this is as bad as it can get.

I know that when you google masturbation you get many “scientific benefits of masturbation”. Yes i know this. Been there, done that.

Remember the devil owns this kingdom that we live in. And he is the father of lies. People say all kinds of reasons why you must masturbate, how it’s healthy and so forth.

But i come to you with first hand experience. I do not say this out of legalism but out of experience. I learnt the negative and harmful effects of masturbation first hand. No amount of scientific data can ever tell me how advantageous masturbation is. I experienced the worst side of it and beloved let me say this.

Masturbation is demonic. It is a sin. It is filthy. You must flee from sexual immorality and flee from masturbation. It is not how God intended us to have sex. He created sex between a man and a woman. Not a man by himself, or a woman by herself or any other combination other than what the bible says. The bible may not literally mention the term as it is but there is scripture which shows us the heart of God over this issue.

Peter said in this sexual immorality bible verse that we must abstain from the passions of the flesh because they wage war against your soul.

Masturbation invites the sex demons such as incubus and succubus and these will terrorise your life. This is why most people with an addiction to it fail to control themselves. It becomes as much of an addiction as an alcoholic or a smoker. The moment you are not able to control yourself to stop or quit doing something then you must know that there is some spiritual force behind it

Lust

By definition it is having a strong sexual desire for someone. When it takes over, your mind is consumed by sex. Sexual addiction is a form of lust. The individual will be consumed by sexual thoughts. Anything to them can be sexualised. When this consumes you then it becomes a problem.

I do not have first hand experience with this area but what i do know is what the bible says.

The bible says that this is a sin. God created men perfect. He created us to operate within specific boundaries. anything that defies the natural order of how God created things to be is not from God.

God gave a command to not lie with a person of the same sex in this sexual immorality bible verse. If He commanded against it, this means He despises it.

He can not tell you not to for example eat when you are hungry when he created your body to need food. That doesn’t make sense. When God says don’t do this it means that is not what He intended it to be. And He knows that you are able to not do it.

As Christians our mandate is to follow the word of God to a T. And not to selectively choose the stuff that we want to follow. So if the bible says NO, I will say issa No!!

I do believe that while some people are homosexuals by choice of wanting an alternative lifestyle, some are gay, not by choice.

But what do i mean, where they born that way?

Maybe. But what i mean is not that they were created like that. God never created anyone homosexual. I do know that some demons are passed on through mother to child in the womb through generational curses. So this could be the reason for those kids we see already having confusion at a young age. They would have been demonised before birth, not by their choice.

But there is a solution to that. Deliverance. God can deliver anyone from any type of spirit. If this is you, Don’t despair, God wants to set you free from this bondage. He will help you to flee from sexual immorality of any kind

But I can imagine the kind of marriage that will be, which is as a result of only wanting sex.

If you want to have sex and are unable to control yourself then the best way forward is to get married. I know it may seem like a crappy reason to get married especially for us ladies. We expect to be married because of love and so forth. But it’s better to be married so you can have sex “legally” than to stay single and sin against God.

Surrender your life to God

James warned us in this sexual immorality bible verse that we are to submit to God firstly, then we can resist the devil and all devilish things.

When you surrender your life to God, the Holy Spirit will begin to lead and convict you from committing sin.

And when you do, he will most certainly flee from you. I still pick up my cross daily to follow Jesus. It’s a daily decision, daily conviction. But i have news for you. Gods mercies are new every morning. With his mercy and grace you will be empowered to flee from sexual immorality.

Get deliverance

Spirits of lust, spirit of sexual perversion, spirit of pornography as well as the spirit of masturbation. God can deliver you from it all. As millennials , it is obviously trendy to be watching certain TV shows, attending certain events, listening to particular music especially in our generation. But one thing I have seen is how entertainment influences the way that we think.

And if we are to be aware of how to overcome sexual immorality we must be very careful about our choices of entertainment.

If we watch erotic TV shows we are bound to be left feeling a certain way and this increases the likelihood in engaging in sexual immorality. The same applies to music that we listen to. So we must exercise extreme care in what we allow to “enter” into our minds through “enter”tainment if we want to be able to overcome sexual immorality.

Date believers with the same faith and convictions as you

I know that this is a very controversial topic where people are not convinced that as Christians we are supposed to date only believers. But it is a sure way to avoid sexual immorality. When we date unbelievers we are unequally yoked and they may not understand your desire to wait for sex until marriage.

I know very well that it is trendy in our generation to have premarital sex and waiting only makes you appear like a freak. But if we want to truly be free from the grip of sexual immorality and be on aware of how to overcome sexual immorality, we must only date within the body of Christ.

Find someone who values the essence of waiting as much as you do. Otherwise you will only be setting yourself up for failure if you date a non believer or a lukewarm Christian who doesn’t share the same value as you. They will give you so much pressure until you finally yield to sin to make them happy.

Denying yourself

This is a very important aspect of the life of believers with regards to how to overcome sexual immorality.If you want to be truly transformed into Christlikeness and live a life that is free from sin then you must start denying yourself.

Denying yourself means that even if your body wants to do something, in this case engaging in sexual immorality then you crucify your flesh. Sex is a gift from God in marriage. But if done outside the institute of marriage then it is perverted and becomes sexual immorality.

You must not always cave into what your body wants. The bible says that “Those who are in the flesh cannot please God Romans 8:8“. The flesh wants what it wants but it is never right. So denying yourself always helps you avoid temptation, makes you overcome sinning and in this case keeps you from sexual immorality.

Pray for godly friends

Friends are some of the most influential people in every person’s life. Bad company corrupts good behaviour the bible says in 1 Corinthians 15:33 . When we have worldly friends, they will influence us into behaving worldly.

To the world there really isn’t anything wrong with having sex before marriage. They say it’s better to have the compatibility test before you get married. We used to call it a test drive. I remember back in the day when i was in the world I was a huge proponent of “test driving” every car before buying. And we all know this ain’t a real car.

So I know how hard it can be out there in the world. So, imagine telling your worldly friends that you have now given your life to Jesus and want to live according to His will. They will most likely mock you. How this is just a phase you will be back to the fun stuff. How the you that we know will not survive in that “Jesus lifestyle”.

So this is very detrimental to one’s life in our quest to being like Jesus. The best way I would say is to pray that God brings you together with friends who share the same values as you. Friends that will pray with and for you and encourage you to walk into the things of God and support you constantly on how to overcome sexual immorality.
