Are you patiently waiting for the one?
For that God-fearing man that the Lord promised that he would send to you if you yield to him?
That man that the Lord told you was out there, the one he said he had created specifically for you?
If you are, then I know how challenging that waiting period may be especially for us millennial ladies.
WAITING FOR THE RIGHT ONE
I know that the world influences us and gives us anxieties like the biological clock. The world dictates which age is ripe to have kids and how it will be hard or impossible to have kids past a certain age.
Well, I am one of those people who had been tormented by what the world says. Early this year I turned 35 and I was somewhat concerned about the notion of having kids past that age.
Growing up I had always said I would love to have kids before the age of 35. And here I am now, 35 years old, a single mum to one kid, with no boyfriend in scope.
Let me not lie to you that I wasn’t somewhat concerned and a bit anxious, thinking back to that ex that was about to propose a few years back and was ready for kids.
I could have baby number 3 on the way by now had I followed through.
But the Lord told me Noo!!!
God literally took all my peace from proceeding with that marriage. That is when he called me and brought me out of the world. I surrendered to him. To his plans for my life, to his purpose.
And to me, that means that He has me covered. God knows the desires of my heart just as he knows yours.
If your desire is to be married and it IS according to his will so he will bring you that husband. No rush, no haste my sister.
Trust God, trust the process, and at the right time, he will bring y’all together.
While you wait, try to do that patiently and these bible verses about waiting patiently will keep you focused and hopeful for what lies ahead.
Bible verses about waiting patiently for love
Psalm 27:14
Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!
I received this bible verse about waiting patiently for love from one of the first encounters I had with the Holy Spirit when I was praying in the spirit. He told me Psalms 27.
When I opened it, there was a lot of other stuff in that chapter that spoke to me, but this last part hit it for me. God told me to wait patiently.
Like you, I had been going through many things, asking God for things like OK God, I have surrendered to you, now what?
What I learned my dear is that we are like onions. After years and years of living in sin, allowing demonic strongholds to build and take over our minds, there is a lot of transformation that needs to be done in our lives.
The Holy Spirit will help us to be renewed and transformed into the image of Christ but this doesn’t happen overnight.
We need to wait patiently for the Lord while he works in you peeling off those layers.
While you wait for your husband the Lord is also fixing you.
You also are a work in progress. Trust that the Lord is preparing you to be a good wife worthy of a king.
So my dear sister, wait for the Lord. Trust that he knows what he is doing and has this.
Let your heart yield to him and be courageous and as David repeats, WAIT FOR THE LORD!!!
Psalm 37:7-9
Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices! Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath! Fret not yourself; it tends only to be evil. For the evildoers shall be cut off, but those who wait for the Lord shall inherit the land.
Psalms 37 is a beautiful bible verse about waiting patiently. In this chapter, David talks about people who get influenced, pressured, or anxious by what the rest of the world is doing.
The world, in our case, tells you that you must have kids by a certain age and be settled by that age.
That gives us immense pressure and desperation to jump into a wrong relationship just so we are married by that particular age.
But this bible verse about waiting patiently tells us that we must not be concerned with people who do things their own way, outside God.
We must not envy people who live their lives according to their own timetable and not that of God. Because like grass, he says in 34:2, they will soon fade away, like spring flowers they will soon wither.
If you take a look at most of the people who jump into wrong relationships out of desperation, those marriages don’t last and they will quickly end.
But you and I are not in the world. Verse 3 says to rely on and have confidence in the Lord and to do good while we are at it.
If we delight in the Lord, the Bible says that he will give us the petitions of our hearts.
Verse 5 says that we must commit everything we do to the Lord and he will help us. It’s a promise.
So, my dear, don’t let what the world says stress you. Relax, trust in God, and delight in him. And as the Lord lives the bible says, if we commit our ways to him, and trust in him he will bring it to pass.
Isaiah 40:31
But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
This is one of the most common bible verses about waiting patiently. Here Isaiah teaches us the benefits and the results of waiting patiently for the Lord.
He says here if we expect, look for or have hope in Him then he will give us new power and strength when we are weakening.
More like he will recharge our batteries when our patience starts to run out. When you decide in your heart that I am going to wait patiently on the Lord for a good man, he will keep recharging you so that you remain consistent in waiting.
The ability to wait does not come easy to us as humans. We all want things done and done as soon as they can present themselves to us. But when it comes to God we have to practice patience.
This God that we serve is a God of times and seasons. So he will not rush things to happen at your pace just because you can not trust him to wait.
So God, knowing our flaws empowers us to wait for him. He empowers us to become patient and not be in a rushed state like it is humanly inevitable.
But patience is a fruit of the spirit and when you allow the Holy Spirit to work inside you then the Lord will accord you the ability to wait for his time. Even if we run, we will not get tired because we will be backed by supernatural strength from God.
Whatever we do that must exhaust us or drain us will not succeed because we will be plugged into a charging system that does not run low.
So decide to wait patiently on the Lord and you will see that it will be 5 years gone and you won’t see how time passed by that fast.
Bible verse about waiting for someone
Micah 7:7
But as for me, I will look to the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me.
This bible verse about waiting patiently talks about misery turning to hope. He talks about how everything and everyone has turned against him.
How he cannot find any food to satisfy his hunger, how there is no one to be trusted even his own wife and children can not be trusted.
He laments about how everything and everyone has become ungodly but he will not be miserable.
Micah says that even if the world has a different view on things, even if things do not look good from the outside he will look to the Lord.
Micah says that he will wait patiently for the Lord to hear him. And he will. When he does he will restore everything.
The same applies to you, my sister. Even if your family despises you for being too old and single and how hopeless it now is for you to have kids at your age, do not mind them.
Look to the Lord of your salvation like what the prophet Micah said. When you do that the Lord will restore you. Even in your old age, as they say, God is a God of restoration.
He will restore what the worm ate. And when he restores we all know he does it a hundredfold.
Galatians 6:9
And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
This bible verse about waiting patiently encourages us to remain steadfast and true to the word and promises of God.
My sister, do not get weary of waiting for God. Do not allow the devil to lie to you that you will die alone and that at this age no one will ever want to marry you.
In due season God will reward your labor of love. God will reward your trust in him and he will shame the naysayers.
Ask God for peace and reassurance when you feel yourself getting weary during your single season. Stand on the promises of God and remind God that like Abraham I will wait to see your promises come to pass. Even if it happens when I do not want it.
But remember beloved, it is not your will, but he will be done. But what matters is that in the end, God rewards those who diligently seek him.
Bible verses about patience and self control
Habakkuk 2:3
For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.
I absolutely love the bible verse about waiting patiently. I am one person who God spoke to, speaks to, and reveals his enormous plans for my life.
Then naturally, as you may be, I’m like oK God, now what?
I’ve done what you asked of me, I’m surrendered, let’s do this thing.
But no beloved.
God says to the prophet that everything that I have shown you or promised you are for the future. And it is working to be fulfilled, as God’s word does not come back void.
He says that even if it may delay, not come as fast or as quickly as you want, IT WILL NOT FAIL!!!!
The word of the Lord says that it will CERTAINLY come to pass. It will not delay, maybe to you, but to God, the time that it comes to pass is the appointed time.
So sisters, let us not try to rush God to work within our timetable. You must practise self control and patience while you wait.
Let him bring our husband at the appointed time. Maybe your husband is 75% ready and if you get together now, he will destroy your progress.
Let God prepare him to be at 100% before he delivers him to you.
Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
While you wait patiently for your husband ponder on this bible verse about waiting patiently. In whatever you do, always remember that God knows the plans that he has for us.
And these plans are good. They are in our favor. And when we know and believe this then we will wait in peace.
Knowing that the Lord’s plan will surely come to pass and be fulfilled.
Bible verse about waiting for the right time
Romans 8:28
And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
This bible verse about waiting patiently is one of my absolute favorites in the whole world. This is one bible verse I believed and have truly seen manifest itself in my life.
When I tell you that since I gave my life to Jesus for him to do what he wanted, sis he really has.
God does what he wants when he wants, and let me tell you, his plans are not for evil. They are of a good future and a hope.
My life has just fallen into place. Everything that I need he provides. Some things that I know would have given me stress and hardship back when I was in the world have now become a molehill.
I just know that whatever happens it is God’s doing and he will work it out. Listen, sis, this life I lead is not my own. So why should I stress over something that’s not mine?
I’m like a tenant in a rented house, I’m not the owner. When there is a problem I don’t have to worry about it, I call the owner to take care of it. And he does.
If I was the owner now, then I would have stress because all of this would be my responsibility.
But God owns me, he can and will sort out whatever issues I have. Him, not me. I’m just the tenant.
Isaiah 64:4
From of old no one has heard or perceived by the ear, no eye has seen a God besides you, who acts for those who wait for him.
Yall when I tell you the strength of this bible verse about waiting patiently.
Isaiah says that in all the world from the beginning until now, there has not been and there never will be a God who will act on behalf of and sort out all the issues, and stand in the place of those who gladly wait for him.
My dear, there is power in waiting for God.
Let us try by all means possible to wait for him. I tell you the word of God does not lie. God will literally act on behalf of you when you wait for him.
I am single now. Do I want a husband- yes of course I do?
Am I going to rush and help God bring my man to me?
NOO
I will wait patiently for him. He knows the date and place and time and the how of where and when I will meet the one that he created just for me.
I will trust his word and use it to claim the promises that he gave me. But for now sis, I will be a 35 year old single mama happily waiting for God.
Ecclesiastes 3:11
He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man’s heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.
I trust that in his time he will make everything happen. I trust God that in his time everything will be beautiful. Let us wait together patiently for the Lord and he will give us that man that we all are waiting for
